Your GP practice is part of a wider NHS programme to expand the healthcare team, giving you access to a broader range of professionals and services.
In addition to GPs and nurses, you may now be seen by other trained specialists such as clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedics, social prescribers, and care coordinators. These roles are part of a multidisciplinary team designed to support your health needs more effectively.
This means you will be directed to the most appropriate clinician for your condition, helping you receive the right care more quickly. It also allows GPs to focus on patients with more complex medical needs, improving overall access to appointments.
